Content

This activity will guide you in taking real steps to promote gender equality in the spaces you spend time in—like school, youth clubs, sports teams, or community centers.
You’ll identify where gender inclusivity can be improved and work with others to make these spaces more welcoming for all genders.

First, get inspired!
Watch a video or read about how spaces like schools and youth centers can become more inclusive for all genders.

Listen to stories from young people who made their youth clubs or community spaces more welcoming and equal.

Now, take action!
Through these activities, you’ll learn how to identify inequalities in the spaces you occupy every day and take meaningful action to make those spaces more inclusive. You’ll gain practical experience in advocating for change, working with others to create environments that are welcoming and supportive of all genders.
Where change is needed? Think about places you spend time—like your school, sports team, or youth group. What changes could make it more inclusive for everyone? Come up with a proposal suggesting a meaningful change to improve gender inclusivity in chosen space.
Motivate your peers to take action: Team up with your peers or youth group to implement your proposed changes. For example, suggest adding gender-inclusive language in discussions or ensuring that everyone has equal leadership opportunities. Think of the outcomes of your actions and share a summary or photos of what was achieved.
Run a gender-fucsed event: Initiate and host with a youth group, sports team, or community center an event or activity that promotes gender equality. This could be an awareness campaign, a workshop, or an ongoing project. Document your initiative and share feedback or reflections from participants on how it contributed to creating a more inclusive environment.
