The Nectarus team, Cities of Learning partners, and the International Youth Work Trainers Guild creating a good practice example in Europe on how the European Training Strategy (ETS) can be translated into specific actions – a set of modular training courses for trainers.

This international training will be the first activity in a series of modular training courses for trainers in the field of youth work.

  • 1st Course: 4-10 February in Lithuania
  • Selected people will be invited for the onboarding online meeting on the 18th December, 12.00 - 13.30 CET.

The training course will contribute to developing trainer’s “Facilitating Learning” competences based on the ETS Competence model for trainers to work internationally:

  • To identify and meet the learning needs of trainees
  • To facilitate group dynamics
  • To select, adapt or create appropriate methods
  • To stimulate active participation and empowerment of learners
  • To promote creativity, problem-solving and ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking
  • To create a safe, inspiring learning environment in the training context


Highlights of this training activity:


Aligned to the ETS competence model for Trainers - the course objectives and content are aligned with professional competences expected for Facilitating Learning in international training settings in the field of youth work.

Focuses primarily on international youth work training context - how to facilitate seminars, training courses, study visits and other formats of youth workers training mobilities.

Certified training - the broad coalition of partners will create opportunities for the course participants to assess, validate and recognise competence development at the international level and in specific countries (if possible).

Digital friendly - the training and competence assessment methodology and activities will include using digital tools and platforms, for example, Trainers Appraiser platform and digital Open Badges.

Long-term development opportunity - participants willing to continue to develop their professional trainer competences will be invited to apply for the upcoming training courses on other competence areas.

Endorsed by the International Youth Work Trainers Guild and a broad partnership of Cities of Learning members, and other national and international organisations from the youth field.


Participants profile:


This course is designed for people who are trainers or in the process of becoming a trainer.

The Trainer in the field of youth is defined as someone “who shapes, guides and accompanies the learning processes of individuals or groups. Trainers design and implement educational activities based on the values and principles of youth work and non-formal learning; they create conditions that promote the learners’ individual development, and they shape the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values necessary for youth work”*

This course is for people who are:

  • In transition from being an experienced youth worker to becoming a trainer OR…
  • Already working as trainers locally or internationally, willing to strengthen the competence of facilitation.
  • Age: from 18 years.
  • Language: a sufficient level of English is necessary to participate in this course.
  • Eligible countries: Erasmus+ Programme countries and countries of our project partners (Armenia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia)

The course organisers will invite up to 24 participants.


Digital credentials and certification:


This training activity is a unique opportunity for participants to use up-to-date and digital recognition solutions, such as digital Open Badges and Trainers Appraisal platform. Participants will use 360-degree competence assessment, earn digital badges, and receive certificates proving their competence development.

Youthpass process and certificate will be offered to participants joining this training programme.

Costs:


Participation fee
Participants may be invited to make voluntary contributions to the training implementation costs in the range from 0 to 50 Euro. In justified cases, participants may request a waving contribution.

Accommodation and food
This course is partially co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, and therefore, most of the costs will be covered by the organisers.
Visa costs are reimbursed up to 105 euros per person. Special needs support is covered based on actual costs, but needs to be agreed by both parties involved.
Board, lodging, local transportation and programme costs will be covered upon full participation in the course.

Travel reimbursement
The following cost reimbursement rules will apply:

Travel costs will be reimbursed based on the real costs not exceeding the lump sums based on the travel distances:
  • 10-99 km - 20 Eur.
  • 100-499 km - 180 Eur.
  • 500-1999 km - 275 Eur.
  • 2000-2999 km - 360 Eur.

Only justified costs will be eligible for reimbursement. Local transfer costs 20-25 Euros. It will be included in the overall travel costs. If your travel will exceed the lump sums above, the remaining costs shall be covered by the participant or their sending organisation.

Participants may opt for the “green travel” options for a slightly higher travel budget. Please contact the organiser for more information about eligible green travel options.
